1) Ultimate or competition buttons? I'm mainly going to be using this for fighting games...on this board I see people mostly prefer ultimates for the classic games, but on another board where they discuss massystems sticks (which now offer a choice), most of them went with the competitions. I want to gather some opinions on it...

2) How shallow a box could I get away with? I like the idea of the control panel, but I'm worried about the space issue. I'm only making a one player box (joystick (super most likely), 6 maybe 8 action buttons, 1 start, one coin button, 10-button gamepad hack), and honestly mainly for the looks, I want as shallow a box as I can get away with. How shallow should I get while still being able to work with guts? (BTW, it'll probably have a slanted design, so the controls face more towards me then if I put them on top of a normal box if that changes anything).

3) How easy is it to cut/drill plexiglass? how about other clear materials I could use that would work betteras an overlay? And is it generally easy to find at a normal hardware store (Home Depot etc.)?

4) Any experience hacking up a Logitech Wingman Gamepad? I bought one ultra cheap off ebay (they still haven't replied to my e-mail though...grrr), it's got 11 buttons and would fit my plans perfectly if easily hackable. I have an original sidewinder also, but I actually like that pad for other stuff (SNES emu's etc.) so I'd like to keep it around, but I could hack it up if neccessary. =)

Anyway, any advice on the above is appreciated...I know it's a lot of stuff, but I'm pretty eager to do this. =)
