Since you are planning on using pure dos...

I have no idea how pure dos will treat two separate serial "mouse controlling" devices (2 serial interface kits). In Windows 98 this definately would not be a problem, but you have to have two serial ports (most computers do). I suggest trying to connect 2 serial mice to make sure they both work in dos before buying 2 serial interface kits. You just might be happy you tested the theory before you spent any money.

By the way, If you are not using a real arcade monitor, why are you so insistant on using pure dos? I use the dos version of MAME in windows 98 with the Arcade@Home front end and, when playing games, I can't tell the difference between that and using real dos. Do you have a slower computer or something? If not, and if you are not using an arcade monitor, I think you will find the benefits of running dos mame from within Windows 98 greatly outweigh the drawbacks. (actually, I can't think of ANY drawbacks)
