Yes, you are right in my enthusiasm I did not think about that. But I don't think that will be a problem because I don't have to use the devices at the same time. So I can wite them to a switch or can't I?

:I suggest trying to connect 2 serial mice to make sure they both work in dos before buying 2 serial interface kits. You just might be happy you tested the theory before you spent any money.

Yes, I use a double serial support right now with a cheap trackball. I am planning to make a dedicated cabinet when I find a cheap one. That is not so easy here in the Netherlands. In the meanwhile I am going to make a new control panel for my computer. Because I have more than two serial devices on this computer I have to swap them when I start the computer that was the reason I was thinking about using the usb version.

: By the way, If you are not using a real arcade monitor, why are you so insistant on using pure dos? I use the dos version of MAME in windows 98 with the Arcade@Home front end and, when playing games, I can't tell the difference between that and using real dos. Do you have a slower computer or something? If not, and if you are not using an arcade monitor, I think you will find the benefits of running dos mame from within Windows 98 greatly outweigh the drawbacks. (actually, I can't think of ANY drawbacks)

I use a p2 266 with 128mb ram. Pure dos is on my computer much smoother. For example the movement of the airplanes in 1942 is under windows always a bit of. Another example is the scrolling in Scramble which is pretty good in a dosbox but perfect with vsync is pure dos. And moonpatrol is even worse. This is always the case even if I close all programs in the background.
I know these are really small problems, but aren't we all a bit perfectionists on this board striving for a real arcade cabinet to re-enact a part of our youth ;-)

Excuse me for my poor English,

Peter
