Well it all depends on what you already have, the dimensions of your cabinet, and your electronics skill.
I used a 19" PC monitor in my cabinet because it was the same size as the original monitor. (Original was dead). Plus I already had the PC monitor. If you are building a PC for your project a TV is a good way to go. (Just make sure you get an ATI video card with TV out). The arcade monitor route is good if your machine already has a pretty good monitor, or if you want to spend a very large chunk of change on a new VGA arcade monitor.

Out of the 3 choices a PC monitor will be the most versatile choice simply because a good 19" PC monitor can do a ton of different resolutions.


On the other hand some people say that PC monitors just don't have that authentic look. (I happen to like mine though).
