: I'm almost done with my cabinet. All I have left is my control panel. It's going to have Four 8-ways, 3" trackball, and Oscar Spinner. I would love to put a 4-way joystick in, but there is not way it will fit anywhere. So I am seriously considering getting one or two sets of Oscar's Joystick Restrictor plates. I hear they work very well, but I hesitate in buying them just because of the big metal plate that it comes with. I realize that it says that the plate is not required, but it may not work completely property without the plate either. So if I got it, I would want to use the plate just to make sure it works correctly. But it's just such a big plate. I realize that it's probably as small as Oscar could have made it, but still, it's ugly in my opinion. If I could avoid using it and still get the restrictors to work properly I would. I was just wanting some people to please post some pictures of their control panels that have the Joystick restrictor plates installed. It may not look as bad as I think it does. Yes, I've already seen the example pictures on Oscar's website, I just want to see some more.

You are right, the mounting plate is about as small as it could be, and still have enough room for the installation studs to clear the joystick base. That is what the mounting plate is designed around.
Did you see the pic of Gangaware's MAME on the Oscar Controls Customer Installations page? So far, that is the only picture I've received of the restrictors installed in a cabinet/control panel.
