Look at what irq it's on. It needs it's own irq. In Win 2000 you need to go into Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Computer Management Then under there go to Hardware resources then to Conflicts/sharing if anything is on the same irq as the sound card you have a problem. The only way to resolve it will be to manually move it to a different pci slot unless you have a motherboard where you can assign the irq for each pci slot.
