Help: Soundblaster 16 PCI Echos in Windows 2000

Hello,

Last night I bought a Soundblaster 16 PCI, so I could use it with both Windows 2000 and DOS 6.0.

I haven't had a chance to try it in DOS yet, but I'm having problems in Windows 2000.

To get any sound at all, I had to boot into safe mode and remove everything from the devide manager under soundcards and let Windows reinstall the drivers on the reboot.

Now playing *some* MAME games it echos. It replays every sound effect a second time after a delay of about 1/2 second. Glaxian is particuarly bad.

Any suggestions for a fix would be appreciated.
