Difficult to remove TV case and make custom mount and bezel?

I like the modularity of a TV as a display device, but I hate how it looks when mounted. I prefer the arcade monitor and a real, proper bezel that is moulded to the tube (like the ones HAPP sells)

How tough is it to strip the case off a TV, build a frame for the whole mess, mount it, and especially, use a real bezel against the tube, and mimic the whole arcade look?

Surely this must have been done by someone!
