--==** CRASH **==--
Yes, my hard drive died :( I've got a new one now, but my most recent backup of my email was 7/30/00 -- if you've sent me any email from 8/1/00 till 8/25/00, *please* resend it if I didn't answer. Especially resend it if it was a new web site or other modification to the FAQ. Thanks!

Michael let us know that PDPI is no longer selling the Lightning 4 (write-up) directly, but instead it's for sale by Act Labs.  Thanks Michael!

Update status
Well, I'm so far behind I don't think I'll ever catch up.  There are two types of changes/updates I do for the FAQ.  The first are quick hits - news items, new projects to link, etc...  The second are ones that take editing time - a new project that I do the html for, a review, etc...  I'm going to be doing the quick updates tonight, which means there are some older submissions that won't make it in this update.  Also, in the interest of getting as much done as possible tonight, I won't be commenting on the new projects much.  Rest assured I think they're all cool - they beat the one I haven't made  yet! :)  Due apologies to those who have sent items that don't make it tonight, I'm not ignoring you - when I have time for lengthier updates I'll get to them asap :)
New arcade console
First project on tap for tonight - Lance's arcade console.  Pictures only right now, text to come.  This makes project #161!
Visio templaets tweaked
Jason took the Visio stencils made by Jack, and adjusted them to be exact mechanical dimensions (500kb)) for typical Happ controls.  Use these if you don't want to adjust the original ones (scaled at 1/2 to allow ease of layout prototyping) above ones to size.  Thanks Jason!
New (old) front end added
Did I mention this before?  I uploaded an older multi-purpose frontend called ArcadeEmu by Paul Reid.  It's no longer made much to my disappointment, but is still worth a look if you're in the market for a front end.  The readme has more information on the frontend.  On the downloads page.
New arcade project
Added Spindler's MAME Machine to the examples page - an eyecandy-full cabinet sporting 2 sticks and a trackball.  This makes project #162!
New review of the OzStick
Simon purchased an OzStick, and was very happy with his choice.  Read his review here!  Also, OzStick is about to release several new products and lower their prices.  If you're in Australia this is an excellent option to consider, and they sell to overseas customers as well :)  Thanks Simon!
New arcade project
Added Stefano's Arcade Page to the examples page.  If I had more time, this is one site I'd go on about for a bit.  It's in both Italian and English, uses an arcade monitor, and some of the most unique buttons I've seen - be sure to visit and check it out.  This makes project #163 - thanks Stefano!
New arcade project
Yet another project added.  Enter the Mini M.A.M.E. - a 60" high sit-down cabinet. This makes project #164!  Definitely a cool project :)
Arcade2000 - final word(?)
Jeff of Arcade 2000 emailed me to give me an update on A2K's status.  After making a go at it for fun and not too much profit, Jeff's decided to hang up his commercial shingle and stick to doing this as a personal hobby.  He intends to fulfill or refund any outstanding contracts, and not take any more orders.  Thanks for the update Jeff, and welcome to the hobby side of the hobby :)
More arcade clipart
Jeoff passed on to us the collection of clipart (205 kb) that he used for his arcade cabinet.  Thanks Jeoff!  Added to the downloads page.
New screen saver
Blast From The Past - one of my favorite arcade collecting web sites, has added a third screen saver.  This one is a Star Trek screensaver, full screen (617 kb).  Added to the downloads page.
New keyboard utility
Added a new keyboard test utility , Virtua Keyboard (5.3 kb), that displays your keystrokes on the screen to test keyboard hacks.  Thanks borg2!
New Fultra Spinner review
Added yet another review of the Fultra Spinner to the reviews page.  Yet another satisfied customer :)
I-PAC update
Updated the information on the interfaces page to accurately reflect the current pricing ($47) and interfaces (USB as well as keyboard) of the I-PAC.
MORE TO COME!
But it's midnight, so it'll have to be next time :)
