I've had this problem in the past running in a Dos box. For some reason my computer wasn't ending the last instance of ArcadeOS and it was running two instances of it at the same time. The three beeps were really slow and the games were very slow and choppy. When I shut down one of the instances of ArcadeOS the problem went away. I've since had other problems and re-installed Windows and have not had the problem again.
