Connecting Playstation (and N64) to VGA monitor

My arcade cabinet is using the WG u3100 with VGA input. It works great with my computer but I want to play console games as well if I can. The dreamcast has a VGA box but older consoles don't. I bought the Jam! from aims lab that converts the console output to a VGA signal but the picture quality is pretty bad. Any suggestions as to what would be better?
