Short version: PSX and N64 are NTSC devices running at a 15Khz refresh rate. VGA requieres at least 31Khz refresh rate. Only way to get them on it is with a converter that if cheap will look pretty bad, and higher end ones are pretty expensive. Over at NCSX.com they have an import device that does the same thing that is suyposed to be the best one for PSX and N64 type consoles, and I saw a older one working very well. Unaware of the newer ones price/performance though.

For a longer version, jsut email me and I can get more technicall about it all., but it aint really necesary.

: : My arcade cabinet is using the WG u3100 with VGA input. It works great with my computer but I want to play console games as well if I can. The dreamcast has a VGA box but older consoles don't. I bought the Jam! from aims lab that converts the console output to a VGA signal but the picture quality is pretty bad. Any suggestions as to what would be better?

: I think you need an upscan converter. I think the mhz from psx ain't the same as VGA. Therefor you got crappy picture. Don't know this for sure, but maybe some other at this board know.
