kind of related! Quake2 in cabinet control setup

There are two options that I see for any quake type
game in a cabinet. The first setup would be like
the game WAR in the arcades now. It uses a joystick
with a button on it similar to a tron or zaxxon
joystick. This is used for turning and aiming up
and down. The trigger on the joystick is for shooting.
I think there is also another button on the stick for
jumping possibly.
For movement there are four buttons laid
out like the arrow keys on your keyboard. The "up"
button would move forward the "down" back. The
"left" and "right" buttons would be used for strafing
left and right. Make sense? The second option would
be to use a tron type triger joystick again but instead
of using it with buttons use it with a trackball.
Another cool thing would be to find the quake2 mod that
allows 2 players to play on the same screen by splitting
it. Of course one of you couldn't use the mouse to aim :-(.
