U3000 vs. U3100 vs. D9200 woes

I'm in the same boat as most are (or were at one time) - choosing a display for my cabinet. While there are merits for TVs and PC monitors, I never lose sight of the fact that my motivations are to build an *arcade* cabinet, so i'm finding true arcade monitors hard to pass up (plus I have a 70" TV for watching movies and playing PS anyways 8-))

Nevertheless, I want a WG monitor solution for all the MAME games going - without worry as to running special versions of MAME and whatnot...auto-sync and the whole 9 yards. Seems like a standard resoultion display, while the most realistic, may have issues with newer games coming to MAME, so a VGA and up display should solve these issues. I would also run other emulators as well (Visual Pinball, Intellivision, VCS, things like that - a complete emulation box, basically...)

So - what are the pros/cons/differences between the U3000/U3100/D9200 monitors? I'm not really concerned about cost, so ignore that factor. I want 19" and higher for sure, if that helps.

Why is the XGA D9200 at 27" so cheap over the smaller 19" U3100?

A nice, simple, plug & play option is my goal here.

BTW, if one gets a VGA and higher monitor, it essentially acts like a normal PC monitor as far as the PC and OS are concerned? This would make video watching possible and the like?

Thanks for the info offered.
