Arcade...to the max!

I'm planning on building my MAME cab and I'm want to max out everything possible...what I really need is:

1. What are the max number of controls used per player in a single game...as in, X joysticks and X buttons used at once by one player. Right now I'm thinking of going for 6 buttons and one stick per player, which is prolly all I need...someone prove me right/wrong
2. Is one spinner and one trackball enough, or are there games that use more than that?
3. What specs should I go for in a computer...I don't want to spend a lot on the parts, so I wanna get parts that'll run everything nicely but aren't overboard. Durons and Celerons are damn cheap, I probably only need 128MB of RAM at the most, and a decent video card that'll allow me to hook it up to an arcade monitor.

Any other info is appreciated...thanks
