Well, I hate to be beating a dead horse here (debating the dawn of the PS2 port, ugh, no wonder my girlriend looks at me funny), but my first PC was a 486/66 and I didn't even see or hear of a PS2 port until after I upgraded to a 200mhz pentium. At that point I new they existed but rarely ever saw them. I started working in the heart of the San Francisco multimedia industry, about the same time and most of the machines at work (several hundred) didn't have them. It really wasn't until the proliferation of the PII around the office (and amongst friends) that I started seeing it used as the standard.

So, maybe it's a regional thing. or perhaps just coincidence. Either way, no offence implied.
