I'm far from being an expert from the subject, but as long as you are SURE that you grounded the anode to the chassis, you're probably fine. I've discharged my WG monitor a few times now, and I have yet to get a nice snap. That's too bad though, because I wanted to freak out my roommate and play dead the second it snapped. Guess I'll have to stick my hand in the garbage disposal or something :^)
