There are a couple games that allow (head to head) play via a link/battle cable. The cables are almost non-existant, but can be hacked together from vaious other DC cables (like the old dc->neogeo cable, or just a couple of vga adapter cables).
2 US games that I know have head-2-head play modes (but are hidden in the game) are VOOT and F355 Challenge. There are a couple more japanese games that also have h2h play.
