PC to TV, which card to use?

Because MAME will not support arcade monitor frequencies in the future, I want to get a video card that will give a good quality display with a TV. Can anyone recommend a suitable card for me? I know ATI are suitable for MAME, but there are just so many different models. Do I need a 3D card or will 2D do? What would the ultimate card be?

Any help greatly appreciated.
