Whew. Yeah. Forgot about that. I was going to try this myself, but when I did the math it looks like light will travel the one meter (about the length of a normal keyboard cable) in ~0.00000000333564 seconds. Jack that up to a 10 meter cable and you're talking about an order of magnitude, so the signal would take about ~0.0000000333564 seconds to traverse the cable. I sure hate waiting for that extra hundreds of millionths of seconds (microsecond?) to pass. Mind you, this is in a vacuum, so the times are a little off, but the difference between the two would still be about the same.
