If your locking up immediately when you go into Arcadeos before mame even comes into the equation. This is usually due to not running that file the initializes the sound card or being on too high of an irq. Go into your Bios if you have to and reserve irq 5 for a legacy isa device. This should get your soundblaster on irq 5. If you still can't get it to work. You might be SOL
