Hello People, I have just recently got into collection arcade boards and cabinets, I only have a few of each right now, but the addiction is here to stay. I got into this whole thing because of MAME as many have, But I was thinking maybe MAME could help me repair my boards.
If I was to buy an eprom reader\copier for my pc would I be able to simply copy a single rom chip image from a mame rom set to a blank eprom chip of the same size. For example I just bought an Ultimate MK3 board with a bad U-128 game rom chip, I checked the MK3 zip file and indeed found the binary file for the U-128.
Is my idea a pipe dream or is it feasable to think this just may be possible.

Thanks in advance and I hope someone out there knows about or has tried this theory.

Steve,
