MAME32 Runs completely fine via TV-OUT. I never have to go to DOS with my setup if I use MAME32. Like I said in my earlier post, the "PAL-Like" display only happens during boot and pure DOS sessions. The Windows drivers must switch the card into NTSC when windows boots.

: Tony: Excuse my ignorance, but how do you play Mame then, if the TV output drops as soon as a DOS app (i.e., MAME) is run full screen??

: : I have the same issue... I believe the card is ouputting PAL during boot and pure dos. The cards must be set to PAL as default, but when Windows loads, the drivers set the card to NTSC...

: : I emailed and spoke to people at ATI and they were pretty useless. I kept asking how to set the card to NTSC in DOS or make the card default to NTSC, but it was like talking to a wall.

: : Unless someone can figure out how to make the cards default to NTSC, I think we are stuck with windows...

: : : I'm still working (unsuccessfully) on the problem I posted yesterday. Does anyone have any ideas?

: : : Here's a recap: I'm running an AMD T-bird 1 Ghz with 256 MB of RAM and Windows 98SE with a Radeon VE video card. I have bought a new RCA 25" TV with S-video input. I have installed the Radeon VE drivers, but am not having much success with the TV out.

: : : When the computer boots up, there is an "Unusable Signal" message on my TV screen. Even once Windows has loaded this message remains until I go into the Advanced settings for my display and adjust the screen size (vertical or horizontal, larger or smaller), then the display will show up on the TV. Everytime I reboot, however, I need to do this re-size exercise again in order to get anything to display on my TV.

: : : Finally, if I bring up a full screen DOS window, I lose my TV output (it reverts back to the "Unusable Signal" message, and the only way to get it back is to move back into a Windows environment (i.e., put the DOS session inside a Window) AND change the screen size setting again.

: : : I have gone so far as to reformat my harddrive and re-install everything, but with no success.

: : : Does anyone have any ideas on what I might want to try to get this to work? I *thought* I should just have to plug in the S-video card and I would be ready to put this inside my Mame cabinet....
