AMD Duron 1200 good enough for Midway games w/ sound?

Hi,

I'm sorry if this question's been ansked before!

Running mk2 on either my Celeron 400 or G4 533 is very slow when enabling sound (acceptable without sound). I would like to upgrade my pc to run mk2 (and other midway games like mk3 and nba jam) at arcade-perfect speed+sound ... would an AMD Duron 1200mhz be good enough? Because this is roughly the most I'm willing to spend for a new motherboard + cpu (I *might* go for a 1400mhz T-bird but this is really pushing it).
