I thought a good test project would be to make a small control box with a joystick and a few buttons before I went ahead and refurbished an old cabinet. So I figured I'd get/find a small wood box to mount the controls to. Here's my question: How thick does the wood have to be in order to mount the joystick and buttons? Seems that everyone out there is using 3/4" MDF or Plywood, just wondering if that thickness is necesary or can these controls mount on any thickness of wood?
