Hi all and Happy New Year!
I was originally going to go with the Wells Gardner D9200 monitor for my new cabinet which some people on this board had bought for around $400. However, when I called Wells, they said that the price is $575 and that some monitors were sold for $400 by accident a while ago (I even asked for Dawn -- she doesn't work there anymore).
Interestingly enough, Hanaho has stopped using real arcade monitors in their ArcadePC machines. They claim that the Wells-Gardner monitors they were using were blowing out after about a year since they weren't designed to be turned on and off as much as a PC monitor is. Has anyone heard anything about this? If true, I'm now worried about my ArcadePC :(
Anyway, I am now thinking of going with a Sharp Image SI-227SVGA 27" monitor since it is about $100 cheaper (and can do both 800x600 and 1024x768i). I've had prior good experiences with the company so I know they'll back their product. Does anyone know anything about it?
Thanks!
->Dan
PS. And yes, I've tried my 27" S-Video TV and was not completely happy with how it looked. I definitely want to go with an arcade monitor if possible!
