: The gameport only has 4 axis and 4 buttons total. As for getting windows to recognize your second joystick, I don't know of any way to "remap" those axis to another controller.

Correct about the 4 axes - all pinouts define 2 axes for P1 and another 2 for P2, but my problem is that Win 95 won't recognise my set up in this way (I think I'll have to give up asking why!)

I then decided to create a custom controller with 4 axes and 4 buttons, which it recognised correctly.

I then went to MAME32, and using the DirectInput stuff on the Controller properties tab, I noticed that it picked up my custom stick, and recognised the 4 axes (X, Y, Z and Rz). I set up joystick 2 to use the Z and Rz axes.

Next step, I started Bubble Bobble (GOTTA LOVE THAT GAME!!) went to the joystick setup and voila! It recognised the 2 extra axes!!

So if anyone reading this is interested drop me a line and I'll show you how to do it!

Thanks to those that have offered advice on this 'problem'. Now its on to Win 98, NT and 2000......

I'll let you all know how that goes!
