I can tell you that Radio Shack does carry 5v blue LEDs. Only problem you might run into is that they are larger than the ones in that trackball (there might be extra clearance, though) and they are VERY bright. Just as an example, I put two blue LEDs on the top of my MAME cabinet for use as HDD/Power LEDs. Well, they are SO bright that I can see a nice blue circle from them on the cealing about 5' away while then machine is on. They look good, and produce a nice rich blue, but are they ever bright...
