Ok, I wanted to not have a coin button because i like the idea of trying to charge people and see if they would actually pay or just bug me untill i gave them free credits. Now... Im thinking how well would this work. I can have a coin button on the control panel but it can be hooked up to a switch, which would be inside the coin door, and if the switch is on the coin button will be active and can be used for credits, if the switch is off the coin button will be unactive and coins will have to be inserted for credits.

This way if I want I can just open up the coin door flip the switch, close the coin door and free credits for everyone! and just as easy flip it again and SHOW ME THE MONEY!

: : I just need some help with double checking my setup.

: : I am going to be running my Mame Cabinet in pure dos with ArcadeOS. My cabinet has a vertical screen. So vertical games will play upright and for horizontal games Im thinking I am going to have to use Advance Mame? I will be running both arcade and Neo Geo games.

: : I am also going to be running other emulators, as of this moment i know I will be running, or attempting to be, Magic Engine, snes 9x and/or zsnes, nesticle.

: : The control panel setup I am looking to put together is a 2 player 6 button setup. I also want to have an escape, pause, 1/2 player start buttons. This totals out to 2 joysticks and 16 buttons. Are there any other buttons I should look into putting on the control panel? I will be using the coin slots for credits.

: : Thank you for your time and help.

: Don't forget "~" for the OSD and you may seriously want to think about a coin button....it's a pain if you want to beat a game, to stand there and put in 35 quarters. Or have to keep bending down to slip the coin switch.
