Also went with Xpert 98 $45
case & floppy $20
had extra hd & cd
RAM-64 meg $53
sound card $30
www.buy.com celeron 500 around 80 + can get $10-20 rebate for first time buyer
I did the $50 oldsmobile test drive got one for $30

: AMD K6-2 500mhz CPU: The best processor for the money is the K6-2. Pentium 233 processors cost as much as one of these.
: $60 or less.
: ATI Rage video card. There are a lot of different ones but most will do for maming.
: $40 and up.
: RAM. If you want decent speed then you have to go with 64 megs or more 32 just won't cut it.
: $50 and up.
: Hard drive. 4 megs should do for Mame.

: Sound card. Some MB's have onboard sound but it usually sucks but a $10 cheapo SB16 card should work fine.
