Their new design would seem a lot cheaper to manufacture than the first generation; mass produced plastic shells as opposed to the labor costs involved building the laminated wood construction (I'm guessing that's what it was made of). I'm sure Happs gives them a big discount when they order parts in bulk.
Why shouldn't this price be reasonable for a good stick? I was about to buy one but then decided it was cooler to have a cabinet like no one else on the planet.
