: Their new design would seem a lot cheaper to manufacture than the first generation; mass produced plastic shells as opposed to the labor costs involved building the laminated wood construction (I'm guessing that's what it was made of). I'm sure Happs gives them a big discount when they order parts in bulk.
: Why shouldn't this price be reasonable for a good stick? I was about to buy one but then decided it was cooler to have a cabinet like no one else on the planet.
The price is very reasonable....just not possible to make a profit or even break even.
I counted 16 pushbuttons
Happs are $1.50 each....that is $24 right there.
2 joysticks...$10 each....$20 more.......hmmm we are already up to $44.
Some type of keyboard encoder....lets be very leniant and say only $10.....now we are up to $55
Spinner....again we'll be nice and say $10.....that makes $65
the enclosure....at least $15......well that is up to $80 already.
Dont forget misc. parts like wire, connectors etc. They all add up.
Also I did not mention shipping for anything....Happ does not send things to you for free.
I would imagine they want to make a profit.....what could they possibly make ....$0.03 on every 10 they sell?!?!?!??!
This is impossible and it cannot be done even if Happ gives them a discount.
If they do and none of it is bullshit then I will apologize later but I dont think I will have to.
I am just trying to save people from being taken for their money.....I have nothing to gain by bashing any company.
Thats my $0.03
