Really the only benefit to this system is getting a color LCD panel for the $99. Controllers for LCD's usually will cost $300 by themselves. So if you wanted an LCD Panel display, here's a working system with one. You just gotta ad a harddrive.
Netpliance promotes the I-opener as a 200Mhz system. I assume the WinChip falls somewhere in the P180mhz area. People have loaded Win'98 successfully. It can use PS2 keyboard and mouse. Also has USB. No windows drivers for the modem. It works in Linux though.
I don't know about using it for MAME, but it'd sure be a good candidate for a custom car MP#3 player!
