Umm....I have to totally disagree on that one. I have owned an actual tempest machine and using a joystick sucks. I have used spinners that I built using mice guts and custom ones using a Happ trackball encoder and both perform much like the original. Tempest is my favorite game of all time and if I had to use a joystick to play it I would never touch it.
: The origional game did not have a spinner like what you have, but one like the skateboard game 720.
