: I was thinking of using an electric window motor from a car. It already runs from 12VDC which a computer power supply already provides. It might draw "too much" juice from the power supply though.

: These surplus motors a usually geared down pretty well so they would turn the monitor slow with plenty of torque. They are also cheap. A great electronics surplus place is www.meci.com.

: I was also thinking of putting a rubber wheel on the motor and making it contact the rotating disk from the outer edge instead of from the center axis.

: The drill idea is great. I love the way this board keeps me thinking.

Shawn Atari,
Mounting the drill or motor at the edge of circle
sounds better, thanks for the input, very cool.
Now if we can only get the people that are
holding out on some cool tips to speak, I'll
be a happier person. I try not to hide any info,
who gives a sh*t who was 1st or not. It sometimes
sounds like a goverment secret, from what I see
If you use someone's idea....so what, just give
credit where credit is do...that's all.
Thanks,
Jerky
