You've lost me there, I think.

The fixfiles (the likes of which you can find at www.sys2064.com) merely change the format of the ROM archive from strictly NeoRageX to one readable by Mame. I've never since booted up NeoRageX to see if it could still read the converted files. I don't think this is the same thing as recognizing a "new" game - in that case you probably WOULD have to re-compile. But since that is also something I've never done before, I can't elaborate.
