Another HotRod question

Since the HotRod uses the Happs 'super' 8-way joystick, can you open up the case easily and switch the actuator to 4-way position since the 'supers' are supposed to be able to do that.

Has anyone done this?

I ordered the damn thing and I am super pissed that Pac-Man games are damn near impossible to control with the 8 way stick.
