Advice needed, Help me Update my cabinet

I built my cabinet when this site had only a few examples(pre 2 kids). My cab runs slow,not smooth and the buttons sometimes stick or do not work. What do I new to get to be back in business?
Currently running:
AMD233 with 64 ram
using hagstrom KE24
Running Arcadeathome on windows 98
