Smartdrv/Ramdrive question

Anyone using smartdrv or ramdrive? I was going to get a 256MB ram chip and make a 128MB ram drive and a batch file that copies mame and arcadeos into the ramdrive to run from it. Do you think this would make it run/load faster? Thanks!
