Where does the coil need to be closer to? I've got one that I lend out, but I'm in Western Canada.

I'll likely use it exactly ONE time. Does anyone know what I can pick up a degaussing coil for a little less or at least locally (like a Home Depot or a Radio Shack or some such) so I don't have to wait on or pay for the shipping?
