Cheaper and/or more "local" degaussing coil?

I would like to buy a degaussing coil because my arcade monitor has some discoloration problems which I think are caused by magnetization. Happ Controls has one, but it's $50!?!? I'll likely use it exactly ONE time. Does anyone know what I can pick up a degaussing coil for a little less or at least locally (like a Home Depot or a Radio Shack or some such) so I don't have to wait on or pay for the shipping?
