I've found the microswitches on the joysticks to be very noticeable -- more in the "feel" than the noise, but it's still there. I had to go with leaf joysticks, Wico ball-top style. The buttons aren't bad, though. Those you can't really hear but you can feel a nice tactile response.

: The clicking is not noticeable while you're playing as long as the stick is mounted in an enclosure.

: : : I have been wondering, do the microswitches of Happ pusbuttons and joysticks make a clicking sound when pressed? Does it vary on joystick types?
: : : I have been wanting to buy some controlers, but I have been discouraged by this.

: : I currently have the Happ joysticks and buttons.

: : The clicking is only noticably loud when the controls are not mounted into the control panel.

: : Once mounted, they are not really any noisier than the joysticks/buttons in a real arcade machine. The game sound is often much louder than the microswitch sounds.

: : These kinds of microswitches have been used for a very long time in this sort of application. Mainly because they are good for something insane like 10 million actuations.
