That's what I did. Since my wife took the e-machine, I built one for my cabinet and payed a little over $400 for a Duron 700 overclocked to 990Mhz. I probably could get more, but it runs everything just fine right now. Like you said, if I want to upgrade this one there isn't anything onboard and I've got a lot of extra slots to work with. But building a computer isn't for everyone.

Game on!! Brian

: Yeah, they "Work".... but... I have a large problem w/ e-machines (probably because my Job revolves around computers).

: My father bought one for my sister, and while they are a "functional" computer, they are VERY BAREBONES.. Onboard EVERYTHING, no AGP, very few if ANY free pci/isa slots, and I believe 1 extra drive bay.

: If you're not planning on doing any upgrading, I'd get one.

: If you ARE, I'd just get a motherboard and processor, a good fan for your case, and mount it all inside without a tower.. It'll probably cost just about as much as an e-machine, and you'll have the option of using REAL computer components.

: Just my $0.02... :)
