Follow the traces leading from the two sides (the things you call the "teethy things") One side on each one will lead to the outside of the pad most likely. They all lead to the same spot indicating that these are the grounds. The other side of the buttons should lead to its own place on the board somewhere, like a little IC (a chip). You can solder to the button part (the teethy things) or you can scrape away the green coating along the trace somewhere and solder to that.
