Great pic Druin! To be accurate, on the Dreamcast up inputs, one connects to common ground and the other connect to the button input.

Great pic Druin! Just to clarify it a bit more, on the Dreamcast Up switch (top of diagram), one input is the actual button, and the other (which comes from one of the microswitches of the joysticks) goes to the dreampad's common ground.

: Assuming the picture link works, there it is shown with 2 joystick Up switches wired in series and connected to a Dreamcast input switch. When both joysticks are up, only then will the dreamcast input be activated. The same wiring would be applied to any other switch pairs for multiple simultaneous switch inputs for a single output
