Hi, I've owned and used both the DC and Saturn Twinsticks. They both use special circuit boards with special chips, the DC version has a very complicated looking design. The DC Twinsticks worked perfect, I used a Total Control adapter with the Saturn version and found it to be a bit buggy but I think I had a defective adapter.

The actual joysticks are special because they use microswitches and don't twist from side to side, I used to have an Atari 2600 trigger joystick that would twist and I remember how much it sucked. The only no-twist joysticks I know of are the original Tron/Gorf style and the Happ Tron-like trigger joystick, expensive and overkill for VOOT. I suggest giving up on a gamepad hack and get the real Twinsticks.
