I think mostly the reason a lot of auction say US only is because if I recall, from selling a few things myself (from Canada), the default is US only, so if they're just quickly setting up the auction they might not even notice that. I used to think it meant for some reason, they only wanted to ship within the US and I could never figure out why until I started emailing sellings and finding out they had no problem going to Canada.
That's a good heads-up, and I think I will consider asking a few sellers to clarify... However I have run into a few hard-cases who didn't want to deal with a few aspects of higher postage or the Customs forms etc. etc.
