I have a PS/2 mouse, and I was trying to work around that. Just about every hack that I'm going to try uses an input device that is Serial, or PS/2 with a serial option(adapter). Also having both ports working at the same time(with the game port) will give me a lot of flexibility.(Besides, I don't want those two unused serial ports I have to go to waste). :-)
