Yesterday I updated my computer's processor from my old Mendocino 500 to a new P3 800. The difference is not very noticeable using Win98, as I expected, but the games have improved a lot, and I get many more fps in Quake3, Rally Masters, GPL, etc. However, the bigger difference I've noticed is with Mame32! With my Celeron 500 I couldn't get the new games running at more than 40/50 or so, while now I have to turn the fps limiter on, because I get 80, 90 and even more. Games such as Armed Police Batrider, Esprade, Dangun Feveron, Dodonpachi, and many other games from the late nineties, which are among the more exigent, run at 60/60 all the time. So, I'm very very happy :) The only thing I'd like to know is how can I turn vsync on, so as to make the scroll even more perfect, since speed is not a problem. There's an option in the OpenGL setup of my Geforce DDR card, but I believe it has no effect on 2D games. Any idea?
