Ok, I think you are right prophet. I decided to just use the bios resolutions in mv and I loaded all the res. that would work. I'm actually pretty sure you are right since I was able to use 1024 res. and I know a T.V. can't do that on it's own. Anyway, I set up Mortal Conmbat, and x-men and Defender to use the whole screen. They look awesome!! It pays to be persistant...and to have people willing to help. :) The only thing I have to figure out now is how to adjust the resolutions left and right. I just have a little bit on the right that isn't filling in and the left side seems to be going outside the screen edge a little. I tried using the arrows to center it in mv, but they didn't do anything. Can I adjust this by making my own resolutions...once I figure out how to do that?

P.S. Thanks again for all your help guys, especially Prophet. I'm almost there! :)

Thanks!! Brian

: I have a feeling your laptop is just converting vga signals to svideo, so it's not using tv scan signals from the PC's card. That explains what mv is telling you I think - try setting up a plain old vga 640x480 in mv and see what happens on the tv out. Depending on how limited your laptop's graphics card is, you may not have an ideal environment for advance mame.

: : Yeah I know it's me again! :) When I run mv.exe the displays that should work with my video card are shown in green right. Well I can only get the ones named bios to test on my t.v. and not any of the arcade or ntsc ones that are green too. Shouldn't those work too since basically the t.v. is like a standard res. arcade monitor? Or should I treat it like a P.C. monitor since it's coming from the s-video connection. Thanks for any advice! Don't worry, I'll get this eventually. :)

: : Thanks!! Brian
